IRCC Invites 1,280 Candidates in First April Draw through Express Entry
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its first Express Entry draw of April, inviting 1,280 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. This draw, which took place on April 7, 2024, saw a slight decrease in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff score compared to previous draws. The CRS cutoff score for this draw was 720 points, a decline of two points from the previous draw. This reduction in the CRS score reflects IRCC's ongoing efforts to balance the need for skilled workers with the demand for immigration to Canada.Candidates who received an invitation in this draw now have the opportunity to submit their application for permanent residence through the Express Entry system. Once invited, candidates have 60 days to submit their application, including all required documents and fees.
Express Entry is a points-based system used by IRCC to manage applications for three federal economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates are ranked based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other criteria.
The draw conducted on April 7 is part of IRCC's ongoing efforts to meet Canada's immigration targets and address labor market needs. By inviting skilled candidates to apply for permanent residence, Canada aims to attract individuals who can contribute to the country's economic growth and prosperity.
