Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently disclosed the methodology behind the allocation of study permits to each Canadian province for 2024. Speaking about the regions, the study has revealed the following.
Ontario: with the largest population, Ontario secured the highest allocation at 235,000 permits, primarily for public institutions.
Quebec: after adjustments, Quebec received an allocation of 117,917 study permits.
British Columbia: Previously announced an allocation of 83,000 permits, evenly distributed between public and private institutions.
Alberta: capped at 10% of the population, Alberta received 40,894 study permits.
Nova Scotia: Received a top-up of 7,472 permits, totaling 20,378 study permits.
