    Common Questions

What Skilled Workers Ask Us Most

Do I need a job offer before applying as a skilled worker?
Not always. Express Entry’s Federal Skilled Worker Program accepts strong candidates without a Canadian job offer. However, a valid LMIA-backed offer significantly increases your CRS score and processing speed — our JobSearch service helps you secure one.
How long does the skilled-worker process take?
Express Entry decisions average 6 months from a complete profile. Provincial Nominee Programs vary from 6 to 24 months. Global Talent Stream work permits can be issued in just 2 weeks.
What IELTS score do I need?
Federal Skilled Worker requires CLB 7 (IELTS 6.0 in each band). Skilled Trades requires CLB 5 (speaking/listening) and CLB 4 (reading/writing). Our team helps you choose the right test and prepare.
Can I bring my family with me?
Yes. Your spouse and dependent children can be included in the same application. Spouses typically receive an open work permit so they can work for any Canadian employer immediately on arrival.
How much money do I need to land in Canada?
Proof-of-funds in 2026 starts at CAD $14,690 for a single applicant and increases per family member. You are exempt if you have a valid Canadian job offer.
Will my trade qualification be recognized in Canada?
Most regulated trades — electricians, plumbers, welders — require provincial certification or a Red Seal endorsement. We connect you with the right provincial authority and credentialing body.
How do I verify that an RCIC is licensed?
Every RCIC in Canada is regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). You can search any consultant by name or licence number on the CICC public register.
Is Canada Central part of the Canadian government?
No. Canada Central is a privately-owned Canadian company working with licensed RCICs and lawyers. Only RCICs and lawyers can legally submit immigration applications to IRCC on your behalf.
